Stylist Jeannie Mai: 'Time Stopped' When Sofia Vergara Hit Red Carpet

Celebrity stylist Jeannie Mai has made a career of telling stars what's hot and what's not. As host of the Style Network's 'How Do I Look?' the sassy Mai lends her expert opinion to the average gal in desperate need of a makeover.

This year's Screen Actors Guild Awards were the perfect opportunity to put Mai to work. The stylist dished on what stars should have taken home awards for their red carpet looks and how to incorporate a little glamour into an everyday ensemble.

"When Sofia Vergara hit the red carpet, time stopped," Mai said of the 'Modern Family' star's red carpet entrance in a vivacious sapphire blue Roberto Cavalli gown.

Vergara's look wasn't the only dress to write home about -- Mila Kunis stunned in a red floral print Alexander McQueen gown. "Ring the alarm, this fiery siren set the red carpet ablaze in this flowy showstopper," Mai said. "Someone had to hose me down after I saw her!"

Recently divorced Eva Longoria also scored points with Mai for her daring Georges Hobeika couture gown. "Eva spells divorce with 'diva.' Here she is striking, stunning and sensationally single," said the stylist.

'Modern Family' star Julie Bowen truly gave fashionistas something to talk about when she stepped onto the red carpet in a Catherine Malandrino jumpsuit and Brian Atwood shoes. Mai gives the fashion-forward actress props for being so daring, "Julie brought the modern from the family to her fashion with this pantsuit. Beautifully fashion-foward for the red carpet. Something refreshing that we don't often see."

A red carpet look is much more than a jaw-dropping dress. The perfect ensemble pays attention to the details. Hollywood's heavyweights put their best faces forward with sultry hair and makeup. "Every A-list Miss who knew how to make her mark certainly did it with undone hair. Sexy dresses reigned supreme for this 2011 SAG session. From Lea Michele to Sofia Vergara, the looser the waves, the sexier the siren," said Mai.

While celebrities may have teams of stylists fussing over every strand of hair, a red carpet attitude is what everyday women can take away from Mai's best dressed list. Take it from the stylist: "Looking good is all about feeling good. Stand tall ... smile ... and have fun, no matter where you are. You'll feel better and your confidence will shine through!"
