Preview of 'A Stand Up Mother ':
After receiving a guilt-trip-laden phone call from her demanding mother-in-law, Rose, Tammy decides to take the whole family with her on her trip to the Big Apple. On top of the pressure of a stand-up gig at the famous New York City comedy club Caroline's, Tammy attempts to get closer to her overcritical mother-in-law, and puts herself through the gauntlet as she tries to learn one of Rose's authentic Italian recipes.
But the inevitable head-clashing begins when Rose crashes Tammy and Luca's date night at a nearby restaurant. Feeling unable to connect, Tammy does her best to break down her barrier with Rose and become a worthy daughter-in-law.

A Stand Up Mother Season 1 Episode 5 The Wedtismal
Preview of 'A Stand Up Mother ':
Transitioning from the flashy, show-business life of Los Angeles to the simple, small town life of Meadville, Pennsylvania has been anything but easy for comedian Tammy Pescatelli. As a working, stand-up performer, Tammy struggles to balance the many roles in her life: a wife to her husband Luca, a mother to her two-year-old son Little Luca, a daughter to her parents Mary and Jim, and a daughter-in-law to her hardheaded, Italian mother-in-law Rose. After hearing that her mother-in-law has doubts as to whether or not she and Luca are truly married due to their "justice of the peace" wedding, Tammy attempts to put her and Luca's union in front of Rose's eyes, as well as celebrate Little Luca's baptism, by planning a combination celebration: a wedtismal.
Meanwhile, as the planning gets underway, Tammy is reminded of the day-to-day battle she faces trying to remain a presence in Hollywood from afar in Pennsylvania when she gets a call from her agent about an audition in L.A. Tammy does her best to hold everything together, but with having to find a venue, shopping for a dress, and booking a band, the stress mounts for both her and Luca as they begin to find that planning a wedtismal isn't as simple as they imagined.
