It's Carla Gugino in “Elektra Luxx,” the Sequel to a Movie No One Saw

Every now and again you run across a film with a cast full of people you like, and you get all excited. Then you learn who directed it, when it was actually and made what exactly the plot is and you realize that maybe it's not so good. "Elektra Luxx" is just such a film.

Carla Gugino stars in the title role, as an ex-porn star pregnant by her dead rocker boyfriend. Desperate for cash, she starts teaching sex ed at a community college, until one day she's approached by a strange woman who wants Luxx to seduce her husband in exchange for the briefcase containing the lyrics to the rocker's final album.

In addition to Gugino, the film stars Adrianne Palicki, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Malin Akerman, Timothy Olyphant and Joseph Gordon-Levitt- - so now you're thinking, "How bad can it be?"

Well, consider this: "Elektra Luxx," which was finished a year ago, is a sequel to "Women in Trouble," which took in $18,097 at the box office. And there's a third film on the way, "Girl Walks Into a Bar."

Finally, "Elektra Luxx" was written and directed by Gugino's manfriend, Sebastian Gutierrez who you've never heard of and whose biggest success was "Rise: Blood Hunter."

At the end of the day this whole project--right down to this post--is just a wildly convoluted excuse to post footage of Gugino in fishnets.

Barbra Streisand to Play Seth Rogen's Mom in Movie

It's an unlikely pairing, but it's happening. Silver screen icon Barbra Streisand has signed on to play Seth Rogen's mother in the upcoming film, 'My Mother's Curse,' according to E! News.

The flick, which was recently green-lighted by Paramount Pictures, centers around Rogen's character who takes his mother on a cross-country road trip in the hope of selling an invention.

In addition to starring in what is sure to be a comedic trip, the duo will also serve as producers for the film.

According to IMDB, the project will begin filming this spring after spending the last two years in development. No word yet on a release date or additional cast members.

Newly engaged Rogen is currently promoting his latest movie, 'The Green Hornet,' while Streisand will be honored as the 2011 MusiCares Person of the Year on Feb. 11 in Los Angeles.

Miley Cyrus Updates Fans from New Movie Set

Miley Cyrus may have hung up her 'Hannah Montana' wig for the last time, but there's no stopping her budding movie career, according to OK! Magazine.

She took to YouTube this week to give an update from the New Orleans set of her new movie, 'So Undercover,' giving fans a glimpse into her life on set and her rock and roll number with co-star Jeremy Piven.

"I can't believe how quick it's gone," she said of her time on the set of the sorority-centered flick. "We had a really good time. We actually just had a wrap party because the girls are leaving 'cause now it's getting into the relationship of me and my dad. So all the sorority scenes are coming to an end, so all my girls are leaving me." See the video after the jump!

"We've been working so hard," she continued. "Literally, I'm in every scene except one or two, so we've been here working really long hours."

During the wrap party, Cyrus let loose -- responsibly -- with her co-stars and enjoyed a live band, who let the singer take the stage with the 'Entourage' star.

"They let me and Jeremy Piven ... [he's] in this movie, and so he got up on the drums and we played 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll.'"

"I've had an awesome time shooting this movie," she said as she wrapped up her short video. "I'm excited for you guys to see it, really digging it."

The film also co-stars Kelly Osbourne, who recently tweeted in defense of her new friend.

"Just read in the rags that apparently my mum thinks Miley is a bad influence on me it could not be [farther] from the truth," she wrote. "...This really makes me mad. Miley is one of the most hard working respectful women I have ever worked with I am learning a lot from her!"

According to IMDB, Cyrus' character, Molly, is an FBI agent who is hired to go undercover as a college sorority girl.

Justin Bieber Stands Tall in 'Never Say Never' Movie Poster

Get ready, Beliebers! Justin Bieber's first full-length feature film 'Never Say Never' hits theaters February 11th. And Monday, Justin's team released the movie's poster, which is sure to be plastered on tween walls around the world.

The poster shows the pint-sized pop star standing tall, with shots of his hometown of Stratford, Canada in black and white and the New York City skyline illuminated further in the distance. I'm going to take a wild guess and bet the road on which Justin is standing represents the metaphoric road he takes on his journey to the top. The poster features the tagline "Find Out What's Possible If You Never Give Up."

Justin's manager Scooter Braun Tweeted that "one critic told me this movie #NeverSayNever3D was 'like the RUDY of Music' - best compliment about the film yet." 'Never Say Never' is supposed to give fans an inside look at Justin's rise from a small town kid to a bona fide superstar, chronicling his tour, continuing education and family life in three dimensions.

The poster child is currently putting the finishing touches on the soundtrack for 'Never Say Never.' Personally I'm dying to see what 3-D effects are used to bring the Biebs' iconic hair to life.

Westboro Baptists Picket Kevin Smith's Movie, Smith Leads Counter-Protest

An otherwise pleasant opening weekend at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival ended with a small band of gay-hating zealots getting shouted down by a crowd of local high school students, with some help from pot-stirrer Kevin Smith.

Considering that Smith has cited Westboro Baptist founder Fred Phelps as an inspiration for his new horror film, “Red State,” which was making its world premiere Sunday, it’s hardly surprising that eight members of the church showed up at the Eccles theater to express their displeasure. In fact, the church has been talking up its protest for weeks beforehand, and Smith has been planning his retaliation for just as long.

"Red State" tells the story of three horny teens who respond to an online ad allegedly from a middle-aged woman interested in group sex. Instead of the time of their lives, the kids find themselves confronted with a terrifying monster that thinks its doing God's work
The church, which made a name for itself by having picketing military funerals with signs reading such epithets like, “God hates fags,” showed up around 2 pm at Eccles carrying signs and chanting, but were quickly swarmed by some 200 kids from Park City High, the school that is home to the theater.

"To me, it's offensive. It's unnecessary to shove it down people's throats," Grant Sanderson, a senior at the Park City High School told the Park Record.

A few Westboro folks showed up a couple hours later, shortly before the 6:30 premiere, where they were met by a smaller crowd carrying absurd signs of their own, saying things like, "God Hate Crowds," "Thor Hates Straights," and "God Hates Mewes" (a reference to Smith's frequent collaborator Jason Mewes). Smith himself gleefully grabbed signs and carried them with him on his way into the theater.

“This is just a beautiful preaching opportunity,” Westboro Baptist's Shirley Phelps-Roper told the Los Angles Times. “Kevin Smith can keep mocking and scoffing but we’re just going to climb on his back.”

The whole thing sounds like a publicist’s dream.

Slash Talks About his New Horror-Movie Label, Slasher Films

When you think of Sundance, your mind doesn’t necessarily go straight to heavy metal guitarists with big hair and mirrored sunglasses. But former Guns N’ Roses guitar god Slash (who has actually been to Sundance many times as a movie buff, thank you very much) showed up at the festival on Sunday to announce the launch of his new horror-movie production company, Slasher Films, in which he’s partnering with Scout Productions. Turns out Slash — who’s currently on tour with Ozzy Osbourne — isn’t just into striking fear in the heart of teenage headbangers’ parents. He wants to scare everyone who goes to the movies, too.

EW: Where did the idea come from to get into producing horror movies?
Slash: It sort of fell in my lap. Rob Eric from Scout Productions is a friend of my wife, and one night we stayed up all night talking about horror movies. I’ve been a fan of horror films my whole life, and I have a pretty broad knowledge about them. Rob said, “You should start a production company and get behind making horror films. You could call it Slasher Films — it’s perfect!” I was like, “Far out!” So we said, let’s do it.

EW: Is there a hole in the current horror-movie landscape you’re looking to fill?
Slash: The big thing for me is, I was raised on really great horror movies. But sophisticated, dramatic horror movies died out in the late ’80s, and now I’ve sort of lost interest in going out and seeing horror movies because they’re usually gore movies and they’re not very creative. It’s all about the sensationalism and shock value. What I want to do is bring back character-driven, dramatic, intelligent, humorous horror movies — horror movies that have some depth.

EW: What kinds of movies are you developing?
Slash: We have four really great scripts we’re going to go into production with one right after another. The first one has the tentative title Nothing to Fear, which is going into production this year. It’s a really well-written demon story. It’s basically about a God-fearing Christian family who gets relocated to a small town in Kansas called Stull, which unbenownst to them happens to be one of the seven gateways to hell, and they’ve been lured there for an annual sacrifice [the townfolk] do for the demon that appears every year to satiate his bloodlust — otherwise he goes on a rampage. The ironic thing is that Stull is a real town that has this Internet folklore: It actually is supposed to be one of the gateways to hell, and the Pope won’t fly over it. I looked it up and was blown away. There’s another script called Theorem that’s about a mathematician who figures out the equation for evil and then, of course, there’s the hell that comes along with it. Then there’s another one called Wake the Dead, which is basically a modern, young Frankenstein story about a brilliant college student who’s discovered how to animate dead tissue — but he’s a teenager so he goes overboard. The last one is The Other Kingdom, which is about a big metropolitan hospital where the patients are overcome by an epidemic that turns them into these savage killing zombie types and the staff gets stuck in there with them.

EW: Rob Zombie also went from heavy metal into making horror films. Have you talked to him?
Slash: I haven’t talked to him since I got into this, but he and I have hung out and we both obviously have an affection for horror movies. I respect Rob a lot. I was impressed that he was able to resurrect the Halloween franchise and do a good job with it. But this is all a learning process for me right now. So far it’s been meeting a lot of people in the movie business and understanding director talk and writer speak and just being around a different group of professionals than I’m used to. We’ll see. [laughs] I have nothing to lose.

Director Looking for Newcomers to Play Pinkett in Tupac Movie

Moviemaker Antoine Fuqua is on the hunt for talented unknowns to portray Jada Pinkett and Quincy Jones' daughter, Kidada, as he attempts to put slain rapper Tupac Shakur 's life on the big screen.

Insiders close to the top-secret production claim the two women will feature prominently in the biopic, which is expected to go before cameras in April.

Fuqua, director of "Training Day," is also looking to cast newcomers as Shakur and rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight, who was with the hip-hop superstar when he was shot dead in Las Vegas in 1996.

Shortly after signing on to direct last year, Fuqua said he was prepared to "go to the streets" to find his Tupac.

The official synopsis for the much-anticipated film, obtained by MovieHole.net, reads, "The rise and fall of Tupac Shakur is chronicled, from his days attending the Baltimore School of the Arts as a teenager, to his decision to leave his mother's dead-end life behind and embrace the Thug Life in California, to his wild success as a rapper and his dangerous war against the East Coast scene.

"A true poet who was waylaid by fame's trappings, his earliest ambition was to change the world and make a difference in people's lives, and before his tragic murder in Las Vegas in 1996, that's exactly what 2Pac did."

Pinkett and Jones romanced Shakur at the beginning of his career.

MJ's 'Moonwalker' -- U.S. Movie Debut Imminent

"Moonwalker" -- a collection of short films made by MJ in 1988 -- was never released theatrically in the United States ... but one L.A. movie theater is finally trying to make it happen ... for one night only.

TMZ has learned ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood is on the hunt for a film print of the 1988 cult classic ... after MJ fans flooded the A.C. Facebook page with the challenging request.

According to reports, "Moonwalker" was never theatrically released in America because of failed negotiations with U.S. movie distributors back in the day ... however the flick was eventually released in The States on VHS.

FYI -- "Moonwalker" featured a super-iconic 25-minute featurette for "Smooth Criminal" ... which included an awesome cameo by Joe Pesci.
