After an inspirational chat with Ryan Seacrest, director James Cameron has joined Twitter.
Tweeting straight from the heart, Cameron wrote in his inaugural post on Friday, "ryan seacrest told me I had to get on Twitter. So here I am. First tweet. I feel younger already."
The reportedly difficult, sometimes egomaniacal director of 'Avatar,' 'Titanic' and the first two 'Terminator' films didn't hesistate to poke fun of himself, either, writing, "I never tweeted before because I'm a long winded blowhard, and they don't allow enough characters."
Now he's retweeting, interacting with fans, and using hashtags like a boss.
Jim (we can call him Jim now, right?) has racked up 15,000 followers in his first five hours as Twitter user. But unlike some celebrity Twitterers (ahem, Kanye), Cameron is off to the races following a handful other accounts, including Seacrest, Jerry Bruckheimer, Tom Hanks, Oprah, his 'Avatar' star Zoe Saldana, writer/director Judd Apatow, Buzz Aldrin, and NASA (of course).

Celebs Take to Twitter to Show Off Their Sparklers
Spice Girl Emma Bunton is the latest tweet-happy celeb to post pics of her engagement ring to Twitter. It seems like the honeymoon phase starts early for these newlywed-to-be's who can't wait to show the world, or rather their followers, that they're taken. Long gone are the days when a newspaper engagement announcement would do the trick, in the digital age Twitter is all the rage.
The arguably un-holy future matrimony between Sandra Bullock's ex, Jesse James, and his tattoo aficionado fiancée, Kat Von D, was foreshadowed by this black and white shot. J
esse who is known for his frequent @thekatvond 'I love you's' posted this pic of Kat showing off her sparkler.
If you aren't too distracted by her tattoo-covered digits, you'll see that her ring finger is sporting a killer diamond--surprisingly conservative for the unconventional couple.
While most are too excited to disguise their rock bragging with some ulterior reason for snapping a pic of their left hand, Lily Allen found a way to do exactly that.
After suffering two miscarriages, Lily's boyfriend of two years, Sam Cooper, proposed on Christmas Day of 2010.
Weeks later, Lily tweeted a link to her blog on which she snapped a shot of her heavy ring finger to show off her manicure: "A girl can't do Manhattan sans manicure." Right.
Sultry R&B singer, Monica, tweeted a pic of her Texas-sized engagement ring with a shout-out caption to her hair stylist.
Sure, her hair looks great but maybe she should give some credit to fiancé and LA Lakers player, Shannon Brown for that killer rock.
Sister, sister sure snagged the perfect mister. Fox News correspondent, Adam Housley, proposed to the actress when the two were vacationing in Italy in early January.
Although Tamera's sister is less than thrilled about her twin's choice of husband, it looks like Tamera couldn't be happier.
Hopefully third time's a charm for Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris.
Hugh's 24-year-old girlfriend got a Christmas Eve for the story books when Hugh proposed with a multicarat diamond and platinum stunner.
A week later Crystal took to Twitter to post a pic of the ring much to the probable disappointment of Hef's ex, Holly Madison, who left the 84-year-old because he would not propose to her.
Baby Spice is all grown up and engaged.
Emma's longtime boyfriend and baby daddy finally proposed after the couple announced that Emma was pregnant with their second child in November of 2010.
Emma captioned the pic with a resounding, "Yahooooo."

Jay Cutler Injury Backlash: Fans Burning His Jersey In Chicago, Twitter Lashing Out About Toughness
The way the NFC Championship Game ended could barely have been worse for Jay Cutler. His team finally got the ball moving on offense and rallied to a closer, valiant loss but only after he was forced to leave the game with injuries. That's the sort of scenario that gets fans thinking about burning Cutler's jersey.
That picture, from @brianvanarsdale, should tell us something about the reaction to Cutler's terrible day. I hope it's not the only thing we remember about Cutler's day, though — and I hope we learn something from it.
Searching for Cutler's name and "bitch" on Twitter finds a lot of people unimpressed with Cutler's toughness; searching Cutler and girl finds more folks lashing out.
This is the ugly side of football, the "ultimate man's sport": toughness is determined by people who are sitting on couches with laptops and iPads, and graded on a scale from man to woman that seems to have been codified in 1957 and untouched through the women's rights movement. And yet no one knows what's actually wrong with Cutler, or what he might have been risking by returning to the game.
We might not learn about that, either, thanks to the NFL's notoriously secretive injury culture, which guards information about maladies like state secrets, lest players be seen as less tough or valuable or teams be seen as heartless machines. Could Cutler, who reportedly left with a knee injury, have also sustained a concussion? Could his knee injury be worse than anyone knows?
We as fans tend to lionize athletes who exhibit "toughness" above and beyond their peers despite having little clue what those players go through to play. Yes, players ripped Cutler today, but the Bears have had his back, with Cutler saying he wanted to keep playing but the team wouldn't let him.
It's probably already too late for Cutler's reputation on this day; things calcify pretty quickly when Caleb Hanie plays well while you sit on the sidelines. But in the days and weeks to come, I hope that we take some time to figure out what was wrong with Jay Cutler today — and reflect on whether we were wrong to judge him as harshly or as quickly as we did.

Holly Madison Met New Boyfriend on Twitter
Former 'Girl Next Door' Holly Madison has found new love -- on Twitter! Who knew 140 characters could be the start of something special?
The reality star started talking to new boyfriend Jack Barakat through the social networking site after being introduced by friends, according to E! Online.
"We met through a mutual friend and then somehow somebody retweeted something funny he said on Twitter," she said. "So I started following him and then we started tweeting each other back and forth!"
The flirtation then progressed to direct messages and led to the pair exchanging numbers.
"We were texting for months, and finally when I had my vacation, I was like, 'Do you wanna come out hang out with me?' and he did and we hit it off right away," Madison said.
Her former Playboy Mansion roommate Bridget Marquardt has already given her stamp of approval.
"He's a really nice guy," she told E! "He's really, really sweet, and they were so cute, all snuggly and kissy and lots of PDA."
And it seems Madison isn't the only one from Playboy moving on. Her longtime ex and Playboy founder, Hugh Hefer, got engaged to Crystal Harris during the holidays.
The 'Holly's World' star, who dated Hefner for more than six years before breaking things off in 2008, recently opened up to Life & Style magazine about his speedy relationship.
"I'd like to see Hef settle down," she told the magazine. "I just want it to be with the right person, and I feel like he's making a hasty decision. I'm not sure Crystal is the best thing for him."

Report: 50 Cent Hauls In $8.7 Million Via Twitter Over the Weekend
50 Cent made a lot sense, financially, on Twitter over the weekend. According to the New York Post, the rapper saw the value of his 30 million shares in a penny-stock company increase by $8.7 million after sending out a series of tweets urging his 3.8 million followers to invest, which sent the price of the stock skyrocketing (relatively speaking).
The penny-stock company also owns TV Goods, a small marketing company ran by former 'Shark Tank' star Kevin Harrington. The Post even goes as far to call H&H a "money-losing venture," but once 50 Cent started telling his Twitter followers to invest, the company's stock rose from 10 cents to 39 cents.
The stock opened at 41 cents on Tuesday, reports The Huffington Post.
50 Cent "received 30 million shares of H&H in a private placement last October, including a series of warrants granting him the opportunity to cash in as the stock rises: at 15 cents, 25 cents or -- no kidding -- 50 cents," according to the New York Post.
One of the catches is that the company is selling the star's trademarked sunglasses, Sleek by 50, ensuring 50 Cent equity in the company. He also used the marketing of his sunglasses to sell the stock to his followers, according to StreetInsider.com.
"HNHI is the stock symbol for TVG, Sleek by 50 is one of the 15 products this year. If you get in technically I work for you. BIG MONEY," 50 Cent tweeted, according to screen shots on mediabistro, but later removed from his page.
Along with this and a flurry of other promotional tweets, 50 finally decided to back off toward the end of the weekend.
"Ok ok ok my friends just told me stop tweeting about HNHI so we can get all the money. Hahaha check it out its the real deal," 50 Cent reportedly tweeted.
Despite all of 50 Cent's recent success, the Post suggests H&H's long-term future doesn't look like a healthy investment since it currently sits at $3.3 million in debt and lost $1.3 million in the last quarter.
