Gov’t Recommends Jail For ‘Survivor’ Champ Hatch

Reality TV star Richard Hatch, who spent more than three years behind bars for tax evasion, should go to jail for violating the conditions of his supervised release, federal prosecutors recommended Monday.

Hatch was convicted in 2006 of failing to pay taxes on the $1 million prize he won on the debut season of “Survivor,” the CBS reality TV show. He was released from prison in 2009 and began serving a three-year term of supervised release.

He was ordered to file amended tax returns for 2000 and 2001 as a condition of his release, which Hatch has failed to do. A judge this month found Hatch in violation of his supervised release but postponed a punishment until he could hear more arguments from both sides.

Hatch, who owes about $1.7 million in back taxes, has said he didn’t refile his taxes because he has an appeal pending with the U.S. Tax Court. His lawyer also is scheduled to submit her sentencing recommendation sometime Monday, and U.S. District Judge William Smith has said he’ll schedule a sentencing after he receives the arguments.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Reich recommended in a sentencing memorandum on Monday that Hatch go to jail and be required to refile his amended returns. He said Hatch has a pattern of lying and defying court orders.

Reich did not recommend the length of a jail sentence, though Hatch has about two years left of supervised release.

“The defendant’s punishment for violating the terms of his supervised release should take into account the fact that the defendant has failed to accept responsibility for his conduct, that he has disregarded the order of the court, and that he has continued to make false representations to the court just as he did during his trial,” Reich wrote.

Hatch became reality TV’s first villain when he bested the “Survivor” competition with a beguiling mix of intelligence and ruthlessness. He was charged in 2005 in Rhode Island, where he lives, with failing to pay taxes on his “Survivor” prize and other income. He was sentenced to 51 months in prison, with a judge giving him extra time for lying on the stand.

Hatch, who is openly gay, has since complained that he was unfairly prosecuted in part because of his sexuality — a charge prosecutors say is absurd.

Hatch is currently a participant on-air in this season of NBC and Donald Trump’s reality show, “The Celebrity Apprentice,” which has completed filming.

Vietnam War Saves 'CHiPs' Star from Jail

Larry Wilcox – star of the '80s show “CHiPs” -- was spared a jail sentence for his role in a financial scheme ... partly because he fought in the Vietnam War.

Wilcox -- had recently pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud and was facing up to five years in federal prison. Instead, Wilcox was sentenced to 3 years probation and 500 hours of community service.

After Wilcox shed a few tears inside the courtroom, the judge explained the actor was spared the slammer because of his service in Vietnam coupled with his extensive record of community service.

Wilcox joined the Marines in 1967 and spent 13 months in Vietnam as an artilleryman.

Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil to Serve 15 Days in Jail After DUI Guilty Plea

Vince Neil’s next gig will be two weeks behind bars, as the rocker pleaded guilty Wednesday to driving drunk on the Las Vegas Strip last summer.

A temporary judge accepted Neil’s agreed-upon plea deal after the Mötley Crüe frontman arrived to court 90 minutes early and got a jump on reporters, according to The Associated Press.

A court spokeswoman told the wire service the “Girls, Girls, Girls” singer was allowed to move up his case to allow him time to make a family court appearance elsewhere in Sin City.

Per the terms of Neil’s plea agreement that were reported last week, the rocker begins serving 15 days in the Clark County jail on Feb. 15, followed by as many days on house arrest.

That leaves him free to celebrate his 50th birthday next week, the AP reported.

Last week, the rocker and “Skating with the Stars” alum said he accepted “full responsibility” for his arrest.

"I have recognized that you can't drink and drive at all,'' he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in a statement.

Neil was busted June 27 for speeding in his Lamborghini near the Las Vegas strip.

Cops said at the time Neil failed three tests to determine if he was drunk and a breath test showed his blood alcohol content at nearly three times the legal limit.

Back in the ‘80s, Neil pleaded guilty to drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter for being behind the wheel in a crash that resulted in the death of Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley and that seriously injured two others.

He went on to serve 15 days of a 30-day jail sentence, paid $2.5 million to his victims and performed 200 hours of community service, according to E!

'Green Hornet' Star Edward Furlong in Jail After Violating Restraining Order

Edward Furlong, who has had roles in 'Terminator 2' and most recently 'The Green Hornet', alongside Seth Rogan, has gone from the big screen to behind bars.

According to MSNBC, the actor, 33, successfully showed up in court Tuesday at 10:30 AM for a progress report regarding his probation violation from November. Furlong left threatening messages on the voicemail of his then soon-to-be ex-wife, going against the the restraining order that expressly prohibited this. This made the voicemails a direct violation of the law.

Furlong again breached the restraining order this December, when he came within 50 yards of his ex-wife. Tuesday morning's hearing was set up to address these violations. The judge, however, sent Furlong directly to jail where he now remains on $75,000 bail. His next probation violation hearing is currently set up, ironically, for this upcoming Valentine's Day.

There must not be a lot of love for Furlong from Rogan, the man behind 'Green Hornet.' Rogan starred, wrote and executive produced the big-budget action flick, so $75,000 bond for a friend would be pocket change.
