Rulon Gardner, the Olympic gold medal wrestler is trying to shed pounds on "The Biggest Loser" even as his restaurant back in Wyoming tempts customers with a 24-ounce burger challenge.
The hefty grappler, who stunned the world in 2000 by beating a seemingly invincible Russian, saw his weight nearly double to 474 pounds when he left the sport. He's resurfaced on the hit NBC show, but in the interim, he opened Rulon Gardner's Burger Barn in Afton, Wyo. Customers there are confronted with the owner's challenge: eat the behemoth burger, a basket of fries and down a 44-ounce drink in 20 minutes.
"It's fun," Gardner's brother and business partner, Russell Gardner, told the Casper Star-Tribune. "We make it light-hearted."
Rulon Gardner, 39, who lives in Utah and lets his brother run the restaurant and nearby gas station, has consumed the six-pattie sandwich in just over eight minutes. But he hopes his days of eating like a rhino are over. A legend in his hometown, population 1,818, after his stunning defeat of Greco-Roman superstar Alexander Karelin, Gardner is slimming down fast on the TV show. He lost 32 pounds on the first episode to lead the field. He dropped another 27 pounds over the next two weeks and could soon be back under 400 pounds.
"It's a good program, and it's something that he needed," his mother, Virginia Gardner said. "I'm sure that he will maintain his weight. That's part of his competitiveness."

Denise Richards 'Heartbroken,' Wants Charlie Sheen to Get Help for Kids' Sake
Within hours of being hospitalized Thursday morning, Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Denise Richards was at his bedside once again doing everything in her power to help the troubled father of their two daughters. Sources close to the actress tell me she has joined his famous father in calling for Charlie to enter rehab.
"Denise is heartbroken and fears the day when she gets the call saying Charlie is no longer alive," a friend of the actress tells me.
This time, I'm told, is different, and Denise has decided that she is going to do whatever it takes to make Charlie realize he needs help. First things first, she believes he needs a new inner circle of friends.
"Charlie surrounds himself with yes people," an insider tells me. "If you say no to him, then you are out of his life. Denise is one of the only people that could convince him. It wouldn't be the first time Denise has begged for him to get the help he needs, but everyone is hoping that this time he listens to her."
Sheen's dad, Martin, has also reportedly signaled that he wants his son to seek help immediately. "Martin is extremely upset, as you can imagine," a source close to the family told RadarOnline.com. "He's worried Charlie is going to kill himself."
Charlie left the hospital in secret Thursday night and his publicist, Stan Rosenfield, hinted that he has no plans to enter rehab. "He will be on the set of 'Two and a Half Men' on Tuesday," he said in a statement.
After three years of marriage, Denise and Charlie went through a bitter public divorce that was finalized in November 2006. At first, the couple agreed to shared custody of daughters Sam, 6, and Lola, 5, but last year Charlie signed parental rights over to Denise.
Charlie's prolonged meltdown, which came to a head during his rampage in a NYC hotel back in October, is putting the brutally honest Denise in an awkward position with her kids.
"It is becoming harder and harder for Denise to protect her daughters from what's going on as they get older," the star's close friend tells me. "She's an amazing mother and will not let Charlie leave these two beautiful little angels without a father. If she can't convince Charlie to get help simply because it's what he needs, then she hopes he will for the sake of his daughters."
It was a hernia that triggered the "severe abdominal pains" that sent Charlie to the hospital after a 36-hour party bender that reportedly included doing cocaine and watching porn with at least five women.
But Sheen's publicist tells me, "I have no firsthand knowledge of any of this. I have heard all of rumors you have. He [Charlie] has had a history of having this type of hernia, and the person who made the 911 call said he had severe stomach pains and said it was from a hernia condition. Since she is not a doctor, I did not extend her medical knowledge to the media."
According to PEOPLE, it was Dr. Paul Nassif and his wife Adrienne Maloof-Nassif, two stars of Bravo 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' and Sheen's neighbors, who called for help.
Good luck, Denise. The time has come for someone (and it's not going to be CBS as long as Charlie remains a ratings powerhouse) to save Charlie from himself.

Charlie Sheen Wants to Create 'Porn Family'
Charlie Sheen wants to be the patriarch of a HUGE "porn family" -- composed of his favorite adult stars -- and he wants them all to live in a mansion down the street from his own house ... TMZ has learned.
Sources connected to Charlie tell us ... during the infancy stages of Sheen's most recent bender Tuesday night, the actor brought his realtor and some of his XXX lady friends to dinner with his neighbor George Santo Pietro -- Vanna White's ex-husband.
We're told the meal was served in the wine cellar at George's home -- located just two miles from Sheen's place -- and Charlie drank ... A LOT.
During the boozefest, Charlie agreed to rent out George's giant estate for four months -- at the rate of $250k per month -- while George goes away on an upcoming trip to Thailand.
And why does Sheen need an extra mansion? Charlie explained that he wants to start a "porn family" -- and he wants the "actresses" to all live in the same house. One big, smutty family.
The next morning, Sheen's people found out about the deal and were "furious" -- and immediately put a stop to the plans.
So, we gotta ask ...

Dwyane Wade Says Phil Jackson Is Jealous, Wants To Coach The Heat
Phil Jackson is the kind of guy that likes to fire shots at different people just because he can. He wasn't afraid to drop his two cents in earlier this season when the Heat were struggling, earning a rebuke from Stan Van Gundy. Dwyane Wade noticed all that too, and since Jackson has said this is supposedly his last season with the Lakers, Wade decided to fire back in an interview with ESPN's Rachel Nichols (click the video).
"I think he wants to coach the Heat when he's done with the Lakers. It's all an angle to get over here. He wants to coach us."
I don't recall Jackson ever bashing the Lakers in the late 1990s, so Wade's theory obviously doesn't hold water. But here's the more pertinent question: was Wade kidding?
Watch the video again. Sure, Wade is smiling, but it's not like he's laughing out loud. At the end, he breaks out a bit, but normally, when someone jokes about something, they follow up with a serious answer so that nobody thinks they're misinterpreted. That didn't happen here, which means Wade may actually think Phil is coming next season. Which only means one thing - there's some foul play and collusion going on here!
(OK, he's clearly kidding. I just wanted to have some fun).

Kelsey's Old Wife Wants Protection From New One
Kelsey Grammer's soon-to-be ex-wife Camille Grammer is afraid she could be financially fleeced by Kelsey's soon-to-be new wife Kayte Walsh, and she wants a judge to step in and protect her.
The legal titans for both sides were in court this AM -- Neal Hersh for Camille and Lance Spiegel for Kelsey -- arguing over whether Kelsey is entitled to an immediate divorce decree, saving those pesky property issues for a later date.
The judge put the matter over until February 7. So if the judge grants the divorce on the 7th, Kelsey could still get married during the last 2 weeks of February -- which he wants.
But Hersh told the judge he's worried about Camille's cut of Kelsey's pension -- estimated at between $5 and $10 million. Even if the judge awards her a cut in the pension, Hersh is worried ... if Kelsey dies Kayte could go to the pension administrator as the grieving widow and lay claim to the proceeds.
It's unlikely Camille would lose her pension rights, but just in case Hersh wants Kelsey to cough up a $10 million bond to protect her.
To be continued on Feb. 7th.

'Skins' -- Parents Org. Wants Kiddy Porn Investigation
The sex-obsessed, drug-heavy MTV show "Skins" is under fire from a very powerful parents org. that's now calling for a federal investigation into potential child pornography violations ... TMZ has learned.
The Parents Television Council has fired off a letter to the U.S Department of Justice AND the U.S. Senate and House Judiciary Committees ... over concerns the show uses underage actors in graphic sexual situations.
The organization explains, "In addition to the sexual content on the show involving cast members as young as 15, PTC counted 42 depictions and references to drugs and alcohol in the premiere episode."
The group adds, "It is clear that Viacom has knowingly produced material that may well be in violation of [several anti-child pornography laws].
Earlier this week, the New York Times reported that MTV execs have already met to discuss the issue.
So far, no comment from MTV.

Martin Henderson Wants to Take His Shirt Off, But Then He Can't Have His Beer
Martin Henderson stars as Dr. Ben Keeton in ABC's new medical drama 'Off the Map,' and though he's only now getting the attention in America that he deserves, he's been a star in his native New Zealand since the mid-1990s, when he starred on the TV series 'Shortland Street.'
The amiable Kiwi talked to PopEater about doffing his shirt on camera, learning to surf while filming in Hawaii and what he misses about New Zealand.
You play the hunky doctor.
I don't know. I can't be objective about those things.
From the promo, you seem to take your shirt off a lot.
Well, to be really honest, I've only taken it off once. There have been other times when they've suggested the scene needed it, but I called it off. If the scene requires it then that's a whole other thing. I try not to take it off too much because then I've got to work out all the time. Then I can't have my beer, can't have my flan. A man needs his flan and his panna cotta every now and again.
Do you think actors from Australia and New Zealand are popular in the U.S. because they've got a certain naturalness to them?
I think you're right, and there are certain roles that require that. This role definitely needed something a little rough around the edges. Someone described him as a cowboy doctor, which is kind of embedded in our male psyche.
You film in Oahu.
Yeah, it's nice. I hadn't surfed before going there but, you know, when in Rome ... Alex O'Loughlin from 'Hawaii Five-O' is an old mate of mine, so I actually went on my first surf with him. It was absolutely spectacular. I got completely addicted from that one time.
Your family must be very proud of you.
Yeah. I think they think it's cool. To be honest, I think mum would prefer me to be in a primetime show in New Zealand.
What's so wonderful about New Zealand?
It is absolutely stunning. The food is fantastic, the wine is world class. The people are generous and down to earth. It's just a very lovely spot in the world. It's almost timeless. It's almost like going back to the '50s and '60s when the world was a little simpler and easier. It's a very magical, special part of the world.
Sounds very 'Lords of the Rings'-ish.
It is! It's 'Lord of the Rings' without the hobbits.
Is Peter Jackson the most famous Kiwi in the world?
Russell Crowe is probably more famous.
That's right, he's from New Zealand. Does it bug you when the press always says he's from Australia?
We're used to it. You [Australia] stole Crowded House, you even claim me and I'm so adamant about being a Kiwi. I laugh when I see Australian magazines write, "Our Martin Henderson."
Are you becoming good with medical lingo?
I'm getting the hang of it, but to be honest it's a bit of a challenge. I'm very grateful for our medical advisers. We get a breakdown in our script, if there's a procedure or illness, that has a pronunciation guide and a link where we can read up about it.
Any procedures you could handle on your own now?
Suturing. I could give that a try.
How about open heart surgery?
Yeah, I could replace a valve here or there.
Are you looking for a Kiwi girl?
Hell, I'll take anything. I'm not fussy. Oh well, I am fussy, that might be the problem. No, I wouldn't care where the woman was from, as long as we could communicate.

Natalie Portman Offended by Girly Cliches, Wants More 'Female Friendly' Films
Natalie Portman is known in Hollywood for choosing her roles with care. And up until 'No Strings Attached,' the 29-year-old has largely avoided anything that could be considered a "chick flick."
"I've always wanted to do [a romantic comedy]," she tells EW.com. "But the girls are always in fashion, and it's always about their clothes. They always want to get married at the end. There's some kind of makeover scene. That stuff offends me."
But Portman says her new film with costar Ashton Kutcher is an intelligent, female perspective on the played out girl-falls-head-over-heels-for-guy cliche. "My character is a woman who's working, who's trying to create her own construct for relationships, who's funny herself-- and isn't just the girlfriend of a funny guy," she says.
In 'No Strings Attached', Portman plays a doctor who chooses to have a sex-only relationship with Kutcher's character, a TV writer. The actress says the movie's screenwriter Liz Meriwether "writes women so specifically and smartly."
The soon-to-be new mom and recently engaged star is also in the process of developing more female friendly comedies through her own production company. Portman's producing partner, Annette Savitch, says, "We want to do movies that are female driven, from a frresher perspective. So if it's a comedy, it's not just about women out to find husbands. I think that's really lacking today."

Mark Ruffalo Wants Academy Voters to 'Grow A Pair'
Mark Ruffalo is up in arms over last night's Golden Globes, but Ricky Gervais isn't the one to blame.
Even though Ruffalo's movie 'The Kids Are All Right' won the Golden Globe for Best Comedy, Reuters reports that the actor is none too pleased the film's female director Lisa Cholodenko, and all other female directors, were shut out of the Directors Guild feature film nominations.
"I would just like to say to the (motion picture) academy members: why don't you grow a pair and vote for Lisa Cholodenko as well!" Ruffalo said backstage.
Ruffalo's costar Annette Bening, who won a Golden Globe for best performance in a comedy, agreed.
"I thought [Cholodenko] deserved all those nominations as well," she said. "Very often, good directors aren't calling attention to themselves in their filmmaking. Oftentimes, they're less recognized by because of that."

Anne Hathaway Tells Ryan Murphy She Wants To Play Lesbian Aunt On ‘Glee’
Anne Hathaway is one step closer to achieving her goal of guest starring on “Glee.”
“Glee” co-creator and writer Ryan Murphy confirmed to reporters backstage in the pressroom at the Golden Globes that the actress approached him about appearing on the show.
According to Murphy, Anne — the upcoming host of the Oscars — wants to play the lesbian aunt of Kurt Hummel, played by Chris Colfer — who won the Globe earlier in the night for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series.
In fact, late last year, Anne told Jimmy Fallon that she had a big interest in appearing on the hit FOX show.
“In my head, I’ve written a part for myself on ‘Glee.’… In my head I’ve cast myself on ‘Glee’ and I know what song I’d sing,” she told Jimmy on his “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” program back in November.
Anne explained her role – which she seemed to suggest, at the time – she hadn’t yet told Ryan about.
“I would wanna play Kurt’s long-lost aunt, his mother’s sister who is also gay, who comes back to help him deal with his sexuality, and I would sing, ‘You Are Not Alone’ from Stephen Sondheim’s epic show ‘Into the Woods,’” Anne said.
Late last year, reports surfaced that both she and her “Princess Diaries” co-star, Julie Andrews, were negotiating to appear on the hit FOX show.
According to Monsters & Critics, Julie had been in negotiations to appear as Kurt Hummel’s grandmother, while rumors surfaced that Anne would play his aunt.

New England Patriots: Bill Belichick Isn't a Coach Rex Ryan Wants To Face
Rex Ryan has said enough since he arrived as head coach of the New York Jets to indicate that Bill Belichick is his mortal enemy.
From not coming to New York to "kiss Belichick's rings" all the way up to December's "we want to kick Belichick's [obscene name for a donkey]."
Last week, Ryan was asked a question about Peyton Manning, but was very quick to drag Belichick into the discussion. According to Pro Football Talk, Ryan said, "Nobody studies like him. I know Brady thinks he does. I think there’s probably a little more help from Belichick with Brady than there is with Peyton Manning."
Although many in the media saw this as an insult to Brady, is that an indictment on him as much as it is on Manning? Of course Brady gets help from Belichick; the quarterback and head coach should be on the same page for any team to achieve greatness. Not to say that Manning and Caldwell aren't on the same page, but Brady and Belichick most certainly are. They always have been, and always will be.
They embrace and embody the Patriot Way; teamwork and unity.
Brady, meanwhile, had his own small jab for Ryan. "Of course we [get help from Belichick]. I think we have the best coach in the history of football. We have a great offensive staff, a great defensive staff that get all the players prepared."
Could it be that Rex Ryan actually agreed with Tom Brady? Ryan said, "I recognize [Belichick] is the best. But I'm just trying to be the best on Sunday. And I plan on being the best coach on Sunday."
What Ryan may not realize, or may not want to admit, is that it's not about Rex Ryan vs. Bill Belichick. While their game plans and play calling will play a role in the outcome, they won't ultimately decide anything. It will come down to the players making the plays and executing that game plan for a full 60 minutes of football.
It will come down to the many match-ups between the two teams and how they break down.
That's where Bill Belichick comes in.
Remember when the Patriots were beating the Jets on Monday Night Football in Week 13 by a score of 45-3? Most head coaches might be taking it easy on their players, resting up the starters and drawing up game plans for the next week.
Not Bill Belichick.
He was right in their faces, telling them that he didn't care what the score was, the Patriots were going to play a full 60 minutes of football. And they did.
He was still looking for weaknesses to exploit. And he did.
The scary thing is, he even made that game look like a mess. According to NESN.com's Jeff Howe, Deion Branch said, "The score was 45-3, but we had a lot of mistakes in the game and I think those are the things we focus on more. He drills us on it. You wouldn’t think we won the game 45-3, which is good. That’s a good thing. Once [Belichick] shows [the film], guys realize where they made the mistakes and we’ve got to correct those mistakes."
It doesn't matter to Belichick that they won 45-3, it wouldn't have mattered if they won 450-3. Belichick can look beyond those numbers and see room for improvement.
That's the type of team that's ready for every situation because they've seen it all, and know how to react. At that point, it's just about players making plays.
What Belichick realizes, that Ryan has failed to come to grips with, is that not saying a word all week can be the sweetest feeling in the world when you win on Sunday. Or maybe it only feels that way when Ryan has been talking all week.
Belichick coaches for 60 minutes, and holds his team to the same standard by ingraining that 60 minute mentality into his team.
You could truly call these Patriots the "60-Minute Men."
And he did.
