Gwyneth Paltrow, Sophia Bush Related to Arizona Shooting Victims

As the country continues to grapple with the aftermath of the Tucson, Ariz., shooting spree, actresses Sophia Bush and Gwyneth Paltrow are dealing with family tragedies due to the horrific event, according to E! Online.

Bush's second cousin, 9-year-old Christina Green, was killed Jan. 9 when shots were fired into a crowd gathered for Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' event at a Tucson Safeway.

Green, who was born Sept. 11, 2001, was at Rep. Gifford's event to learn more about politics.

"From the very beginning, she was an amazing child," her mother, Roxanna Green, told The New York Times. "She was very bright, very mature, off the charts. She was the brightest thing that happened that day."

Bush took to her Twitter page to express her sadness at the death of her cousin.

"There are no words to explain what my cousin's family is going through in Arizona," the 'One Tree Hill' star wrote. "How can this be? Violence is never the answer."

Paltrow, a cousin of Rep. Giffords, also released a statement to Entertainment Tonight about the tragedy. Though the actress has never met Giffords, she sent her positive thoughts to her and the rest of the shooting victims.

"Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting Congresswoman Giffords, my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family as well as the other victims of this horrible act of senseless violence," Paltrow wrote.

Jake Gyllenhaal Roasts Ex-Girlfriend Natalie Portman

It was all laughs between Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman at the Palm Springs International Film Festival this past weekend.

Gyllenhaal presented Portman with the Desert Palm Achievement Award at the festival, but had a few words to say about his newly engaged -- and pregnant -- ex-girlfriend before giving her the award, according to PEOPLE.

"Natalie is the Audrey Hepburn of our generation," the actor told the crowd. "She is elegant, graceful, has amazing eyebrows ... is talented, really short, funny, smart, dedicated, incredibly kind."

Gyllenhaal, who had everyone, including Portman's fiance Benjamin Millepied, laughing along, continued to roast his close friend.

"She's a vegan, which makes it really frustrating when you're picking a place to eat," he said, before adding, "She's also recently announced that she's going to be a mom, and her child will probably need therapy after seeing 'Black Swan.'"

Gyllenhaal and Portman briefly dated in 2006. She recently announced her engagement and pregnancy with Millepied, her 'Black Swan' choreographer and dance partner.

Report: ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’ Not Renewed for a Second Season

TLC may not renew the hit reality show 'Sarah Palin's Alaska' for a second season despite it being a ratings juggernaut for the channel.

EW reports that Sunday's finale will be the last episode aired of the reality series, which averaged 3.2 million viewers per week. The first episode of the show set a ratings record for TLC, gathering a reported 5 million viewers.

TLC has not yet given a reason as to why it may not air a second season. A source close to the show told PEOPLE that the show "was always planned as a special event, and beyond that there have been no discussions or decisions."

The Daily Mail is saying that another reason for the show not coming back is the possibility of Palin running for president in 2012. If she does decide to campaign for the post, she would need to show her commitment to winning the elections rather than spending her time filming the reality show.

The news comes as a surprise since an insider told PopEater's own Rob Shuter that Palin had started talking about a new deal for the reality show.

"Sarah knows to strike when the iron is hot and started talking about season two right after the show debuted to huge numbers. She knows that celebrities get millions of dollar for each episode of their shows and thinks she's worth it, too. Jennifer Aniston took home millions from 'Friends,' and in Sarah's eyes, she's no different."

Palin reportedly made more than $250,000 per episode for the eight-week series.

The highly controversial show had PETA up in arms in response to an episode where Palin shot and killed a caribou. Palin responded by saying that it was a common way to collect food for the cold months. She said, "Hunting is something most Alaskans do to fill their freezer with meat for the winter."

Palin even tweeted, "Unless you've never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather chair or eaten meat, save your condemnation of tonight's episode."

Aaron Sorkin, the acclaimed screenwriter of 'The West Wing' and 'The Social Network', wrote in The Huffington Post, "You weren't killing that animal for food or shelter or even fashion. You were killing it for fun. You enjoy killing animals."

Sorkin went on to criticize the former governor's motivation behind the segment, calling the animal "the first moose ever murdered for political gain."

"You knew there'd be a protest from PETA and you knew that would be an opportunity to hate on some people, you witless bully."

Denise Richards and Nikki Sixx Romance is Over

Actress Denise Richards has reportedly split from rocker Nikki Sixx after just a few weeks of dating.

After reports that the pair had split up surfaced Saturday, Us Weekly says a source in Richards' camp confirmed the reports but also said that the couple were never that serious to begin with.

"It's crazy how this is being made out to be some big breakup," says the source. "They were never exclusive or serious to begin with! I could count on my hand how many times they went out. They decided to try it, and she was not interested. That's dating! This isn't some big, dramatic split."

Richards had invited Sixx to meet her ex, Charlie Sheen, over Christmas dinner.

According to the Daily Mail, while Richards went on a New Year's holiday to Hawaii with her two daughters, Nikki spent New Year's with his daughters in Mexico. The couple sent romantic tweets about each other during their trips.

Sixx tweeted, "Tell @DENISE_RICHARDS to get her butt to mexico, it soooo damn beautiful here.....oh i am here too..:)."

Lindsay Lohan Cheers on the Lakers

A newly blond Lindsay Lohan sat courtside with a friend as the Los Angeles Lakers took on the New York Knicks Sunday night, according to RadarOnline.

Lohan, who recently completed a rehab program, sported lighter locks in the Staples Center and looked relaxed while enjoying the game with friend and jeweler Pascal Mouawad.

Mouawad recently gave the actress a necklace that is reportedly worth $25,000 and features a 10-carat diamond. The sparkler, from the jeweler's Masterpiece collection, apparently resembles the famous "Heart of the Ocean" necklace from 'Titanic.'

The two enjoyed the game, and Lohan introduced her pal to director Spike Lee, who was also in attendance.

Lohan's night on the town comes after weeks of ups and downs regarding her rehab stay and possible probation violations. The actress could face further legal ramifications after a reported altercation with a former staff member at the Betty Ford Center, where she completed her rehab.

But for now, Lohan seems to be focusing on her future and moving on from her troubled past.

She recently moved into a Venice Beach house next to friend Samantha Ronson and is enjoying driving a new Range Rover, worth a reported $135,000, which she borrowed from a Beverly Hills garage, according to the Daily Mail.
