Magician David Blaine and his pregnant fiancee, French model Alizee Guinochet, had to hitch a ride on a snow plow after Guinochet went into labor last Wednesday, when transport and other services in New York were crippled due to a severe snow storm.
The New York Post is reporting that when Guinochet, 24, went into labor, Blaine, 37, tried to find a taxi in vain. A source is quoted saying, "The doorman and people on the street tried to help him flag down a taxi. But there were absolutely no cars on the road."
The source also said that an increasingly agitated Blaine then tried to call several car services, but even after pleading of his dire situation, no services were available due to the storm.
Relief finally came in the form of a snow plow, which Blaine flagged down, and the driver gave the couple a ride to the hospital.
Guinochet gave birth to a healthy baby girl. The brand new parents are not yet revealing the name of the child, but a rep of the couple said that, "Mom and baby are doing fine."
The new baby girl is the first child for both Blaine and Guinochet.
Blaine and Guinochet got engaged in 2009 after dating for less than a year. And a source was quoted saying that, "they could not be more in love."
