Rich Rodriguez Had To Interview Brady Hoke On National Signing Day - Video

The nature of that mysterious four-hour pre-firing meeting between Rich Rodriguez and Michigan Wolverines AD Dave Brandon has now been brought to light. In order to receive an honorable discharge from the school, Rich Rod would be required to interview his successor live on CBS Sports on National Signing Day. This also explains those rumors of Michigan nearly hiring Cormac McCarthy, an interviewee who can add a degree of difficulty.

And no, Brady Hoke didn't take it easy on Rodriguez. You'd spend three-and-a-half hours begging your boss not to make you get nagged at on national TV about Midwestern recruiting by the guy who replaced you, wouldn't you?

Hoke's using the air time to do some more recruiting, which is his job, but it can't be easy for Rodriguez to hear the guy who took his job talk about Michigan's national brand and high standards and history.

Rodriguez wonders whether the facilities investments made during his tenure helped out the first class signed during Hoke's time in Ann Arbor, like a man who hopes his wife's new husband likes the, uh, the new weight room and stadium additions.
